The Barclay Bar at the InterContinental New York Barclay is now featuring an extensive variety of over 30 types of the apple brandy. These Big Apple offerings include a "tasting flight" of 1oz samples of four types of Calvados for $24, and Calvados and apple juice cocktails starting at $12, featuring fresh-pressed apple juice from New York apples.The twice-distilled aged brandy from Normandy is one of the world's finest spirits. The brandy's complexity comes from blending over two dozen varieties of small, aromatic apples, careful distilling from dry cider aged in French Oak barrels, then blended and bottled for the connoisseur.
Organic Wine and Spirits Menu
In partnering with the Green Bar Collective, the InterContinental New York Barclay and Barclay Bar debuts its 45-bottle strong 100% USDA approved organic wine and spirits menu. Using certified organic ingredients, the spirits offered at the hotel help to maintain clean farmland and groundwater, and prevent the addition of artificial fertilizers, synthetic pesticides, or genetically modified organisms to the environment.
For each bottle purchased by the hotel through the Collective, one tree is planted in the rainforests of Central America. For each cocktail purchased, a donation is made by the InterContinental New York Barclay toward the creation of a clean water job initiative fund.
